dernières années, Gilles Munier fut un homme de
l’ombre, militant anti-impérialiste de la
cause arabe en Palestine et en Irak. Il était
alors le contact incontournable de bien des
missions diplomatiques. Mais à la suite de la
recolonisation de l’Irak par les armées
anglo-saxonnes, en 2003, il a été mis en cause
par la CIA et assigné à résidence en France
pour l’empêcher de poursuivre son action.
Mettant à profit ce repos forcé, il vient
d’écrire <a

class='spip_out'><i>Les Espions de l’or
noir</i></a>, un ouvrage historique, à la fois
érudit et romantique. Qui mieux que lui pouvait
dénouer les mystères des espions occidentaux au
Moyen-Orient dans les deux derniers
siècles ? Dans l’extrait que nous
publions, il relève une facette méconnue du
« grand islamologue »
français, Louis Massignon : celui-ci était
avant tout un agent de renseignement français,
rival de Lauwrence d’Arabie.</p></span>

paraguayen Fernando Lugo ont annoncé samedi 25
juillet la conclusion d’une Déclaration
qualifiée
d’« historique » sur
l’exploitation du barrage hydroélectrique
d’Itaipu. Forte de 31 points qui recouvrent
divers aspects des relations commerciales,
énergétiques, migratoires et de
l’intégration régionale, et avec des
avancées concernant la libre disponibilité et le
prix de l’énergie paraguayenne cédée au
Brésil, cette Déclaration cache cependant mal la
volonté hégémonique du géant brésilien. Si
d’aucuns y voient la pleine satisfaction des
revendications paraguayennes et une avancée
majeure vers la récupération du contrôle de ses
ressources naturelles, la Déclaration
s’apparente davantage à une
« feuille de route » mue par
les visées impérialistes du Brésil et visant à
calmer les velléités du gouvernement paraguayen
de sortir du giron brésilien.</p></span>
