">17 millions d’États-uniens sur 315 souffrent de la faim et ont passé au moins une journée complète sans manger au cours des trois derniers mois, faute de pouvoir se payer de la nourriture. 33 autres millions parviennent à se nourrir, mais souffrent de déséquilibres alimentaires faute de ressources. Ignorant leurs besoins, Washington a entièrement tourné son économie vers la production d’armement. Cette orientation vers une économie de guerre, qui a débuté en 1995 sous l’administration Clinton, s’est brutalement aggravée après les attentats du 11 septembre 2001 avec l’administration Bush Jr, et n’a cessé de se poursuivre sous l’administration Obama.
