la historia de la pasada guerra declarada por
Chile en 1879 existen varias acciones que merecen
siempre ser recordadas, sobre todo cuando éstas,
por más pequeñas que sean, se engrandecen frente
a la superioridad bélica del enemigo. Es el caso
del bombardeo que sufrió el pueblo de Chorrillos
el 22 de setiembre de 1880 por parte del blindado
chileno “Cochrane” armado con 6 cañones de
250 libras y de unos cuantos cañones de campaña
peruanos de bajo calibre que hicieron retroceder
al enemigo para ponerse a buen recaudo e intentar
