">Het tegenwoordige project voor Koerdistan, gesteund door Frankrijk en de Verenigde Staten heeft geen enkel verband met dat, wat legitiem was en erkend door de dezelfde landen tijdens de Conferentie van Sèvres (1920). Het is in het geheel niet gesitueerd op hetzelfde terrein! Dit pseudo-Koerdistan is alleen een Westerse krijgslist om de Syrische Koerden tegen Damascus te keren. Zijn creatie zal het Koerdische probleem niet oplossen en een conflict uitlokken vergelijkbaar met dat welke al sinds bijna 70 jaar tussen Israël en de Palestijnen heerst. Om de huidige situatie te ontwarren reconstrueert Thierry Meyssan hier de tegenstrijdige standpunten van de negen belangrijkste buitenlandse mogendheden in deze affaire.
