government has been meddling in the Palestinian

internal affairs since at least 2003.  It&#8217;s

effort is to transform the Palestinian national

movement for liberation and independence into a

more compliant or quisling government, willing to

accede to Israel’s political and security

demands. However, Hamas’s victory over Fatah in

the 2006 Palestinian election threw a spanner in

the works.  Ever since, Washington has been intent

on undoing those results and dislodiging Hamas

from Gaza using whatever scandalous and devious

means it will take.  Central to this effort is to

reinvent Fatah and present it as a viable

political alternative to Hamas.   However, as a

result of its recently held Congress, Fatah itself

might begin to unravel.</p></span>

cheap oil depletion and the decline in

him, it is too late to prepare for Peak Oil – a

year too late, in fact [1]. We are in an entirely

new economic environment, in which old assumptions

about the inevitability of perpetual growth, and

the usefulness of leveraging investments based on

expectations of future growth, are crashing in

flames. Now the name of the game is adaptation and

the challenge is to begin a managed transition to

a post-fossil fuel society.</p></span>
