">از هفت سال پیش، چندین میلیارد دلار جنگ افزار به شکل غیر قانونی وارد سوریه شده است. و همین یک مورد به تنهائی تأویل رایج مبنی بر اینکه گوئی جنگ در سوریه یک انقلاب دموکراتیک بوده را بی اعتبار می سازد. مدارک متعددی گواهی می دهد که قاچاق جنگ افزار به دست ژنرال دیوید پترائوس David Petraeus سازماندهی شده بوده، ابتدا در مقام رسمی از سیا CIA که ریاست آن را به عهده داشت، و سپس به شکل خصوصی از شرکت خدمات مالی چند ملیتی آمریکائی کوهلبرگ کراویس رابرتس (به اختصار KKR) با کمک مقامات عالی رتبۀ ایالات متحده و بین المللی، و از جمله جفری فلتمن Jeffrey Feltman معاون دبیر کل سازمان ملل متحد. بر این اساس، جنگی که در آغاز عملیات امپریالیست آمریکا و انگلیس بود، به عملیات سرمایه داری خصوصی تبدیل شد، در حالی که در واشنگتن اقتدار کاخ سفید با مخالفت دولت سایه روبرو گردید. مدارک تازه ای نقش سرّی آذربایجان را در سیر تحولی این جنگ افشا کرد.
